Brand Integrity

Clarity and effectiveness for people.

08–15

Signal Strength

Discovery and interpretation by systems.

Two indexes are reported side by side. They are never blended into one score.

Sector context

Why this sector matters

Technology companies are assumed to be strong digitally. Scale and engineering capability do not automatically produce clear offering architecture, consistent entity data or coherent public evidence.

Product portfolios here are unusually deep and fast-moving, with overlapping brand names, developer surfaces and enterprise catalogues that frequently contradict each other across properties.

These organizations are also the systems everyone else is measured by, which makes their own findability an unusually direct test of the framework.

The cohort

Organizations evaluated

Every study uses a locked, publicly sourced cohort so the comparison set cannot be influenced commercially.

The cohort is locked before scoring begins and is not altered afterwards. Organizations are selected from CompaniesMarketCap — largest technology companies by market capitalization (source). 0 of 25 have published headline results.

Comparative field

The leaderboard

Brand Integrity and Signal Strength remain separate because they describe different forms of performance.

Publication pending

The leaderboard will publish with the completed study.

Rank, organization, Brand Integrity, Signal Strength, strongest dimension and largest opportunity will appear together after every organization has been evaluated on the same evidence window.

Portfolio view

Brand vs Signal

A two-axis view reveals the shape of performance that a single total score would conceal.

Publication pending

The Brand vs Signal field will appear here.

Each organization will be a labeled, keyboard-accessible point. The quadrant exposes organizations with balanced strength, strong brands with weak signals, hidden digital strength and the greatest transformation opportunity.

Shared instrument

The 15-dimension framework

Every organization is evaluated against the same definitions, criteria and evidence standard.

Brand Integrity

7 dimensions
01

Brand Entity Presence

Is the organization clearly identifiable as a distinct, authoritative entity across its digital presence?

Sector average
Pending
Top performer
Pending

Brand Entity Presence evaluates whether generative systems retrieve the organization, describe it accurately, cite it as a source, and surface it when a user expresses category intent.

Evidence inspected

  • — Structured prompt testing across multiple assistants
  • — Citation and attribution analysis
  • — AI crawler access and robots configuration
02

Page Identity

Does each page make its subject, purpose and relevance immediately understandable?

Sector average
Pending
Top performer
Pending

Page Identity evaluates information architecture at the page level: whether a page announces its own purpose in its title, heading and opening lines, sits in a navigable hierarchy, and can be understood by a reader — or a retrieval system — that arrives on it with no prior context.

Evidence inspected

  • — Title, heading and outline extraction across templates
  • — Navigation and internal link structure
  • — URL patterns and duplication analysis
03

Audience Language

Does the site use the language, needs and questions of the audiences it serves?

Sector average
Pending
Top performer
Pending

Audience Language evaluates the language layer: whether claims are clear and specific, whether the story connects problem to outcome, and whether the message adapts appropriately across audiences without fragmenting into contradiction.

Evidence inspected

  • — Primary page copy and headline hierarchy
  • — Product and service descriptions
  • — Sales and support collateral where public
04

Visual Brand

Is the visual identity distinctive, consistent and recognizable?

Sector average
Pending
Top performer

Visual Brand evaluates the organization's visual and verbal system — typography, colour, imagery, layout, motion and voice — for distinctiveness, internal coherence and disciplined application across every surface a person encounters.

Evidence inspected

  • — Full-page renders across templates and breakpoints
  • — Subdomains, campaign properties and product interfaces
  • — Published design system or brand documentation
05

Usefulness

Does the experience actually help visitors understand, decide or act?

Sector average
Pending
Top performer
Pending

Usefulness evaluates navigation, information architecture, interaction design, accessibility and mobile behaviour — whether a person with a goal can accomplish it without obstruction.

Evidence inspected

  • — Automated accessibility scans plus manual keyboard and screen-reader checks
  • — Navigation and IA review
  • — Mobile and desktop journey walkthroughs
06

Brand Voice

Does the organization sound distinctive, confident and consistent?

Sector average
Pending
Top performer
Pending

Brand Voice evaluates whether an organization has a stated, defensible answer to three questions — what it does, who it serves, and why a buyer should choose it over the alternative — and whether that answer is present at the points where a decision is actually formed.

Evidence inspected

  • — Homepage, primary service and category pages
  • — About and company pages
  • — Third-party directory and marketplace profiles
07

Content Vitality

Is the site alive with recent, relevant and authoritative content?

Sector average
Pending
Top performer
Pending

Content Vitality evaluates the depth, usefulness, originality and maintenance of published content — whether it demonstrates genuine expertise, answers the questions buyers actually have, and is kept current.

Evidence inspected

  • — Content inventory and sampled long-form pages
  • — Publication and modification dates
  • — Case studies and research assets

Signal Strength

8 dimensions
08

AI & Search Accessibility

Can search engines, AI systems and crawlers reliably discover and access the content?

Sector average
Pending
Top performer
Pending

AI & Search Accessibility evaluates visibility against the queries that represent real demand in the category — coverage, position, intent match and the share of that demand actually captured.

Evidence inspected

  • — Category query set visibility measurement
  • — SERP feature and competitor comparison
  • — Page-to-intent mapping analysis
09

Engineering Strength

Is the digital platform technically strong, performant, accessible and resilient?

Sector average
Pending
Top performer
Pending

Engineering Strength evaluates performance, crawlability, indexation control, rendering, stability and security — the delivery layer everything else depends on.

Evidence inspected

  • — Field performance data and lab audits
  • — Full-site crawl and log-level status analysis
  • — Rendered versus raw HTML comparison
10

Offering Architecture

Can people and machines clearly understand what the organization offers and how offerings relate?

Sector average
Pending
Top performer
Pending

Offering Architecture evaluates how products and services are named, grouped, described and priced — whether the offer set forms a coherent taxonomy that a buyer can navigate and a retrieval system can parse into distinct, recommendable items.

Evidence inspected

  • — Service, product and pricing pages
  • — Navigation and offer taxonomy
  • — Offer, Service and Product structured data
11

Machine Content & Context

Is content structured with sufficient context for AI systems to understand entities, topics and relationships?

Sector average
Pending
Top performer
Pending

Machine Content & Context evaluates schema markup, semantic HTML, entity definition and data cleanliness — whether the organization's facts are stated in forms machines can consume without inference.

Evidence inspected

  • — Structured data extraction and validation across templates
  • — Semantic HTML and heading analysis
  • — Entity consistency checks across external sources
12

Channel Reach

Is the organization visible and active across the channels where audiences discover information?

Sector average
Pending
Top performer
Pending

Channel Reach evaluates channel presence and effectiveness beyond the owned site — social, video, communities, marketplaces, partners, email and paid — and whether presence is active rather than nominal.

Evidence inspected

  • — Channel inventory and activity analysis
  • — Engagement benchmarking against sector
  • — Owned audience signals where public
13

Third-Party Verification

Is the organization supported by credible external evidence, citations, coverage, reviews and references?

Research protocol

Methodology

A consistent framework grounded in recognized digital, usability, accessibility, search, engineering, content and AI discoverability standards.

Brand Integrity measures how clearly and effectively an organization presents itself to people.

Signal Strength measures how clearly and effectively the organization can be discovered, interpreted, verified and acted upon by digital systems and AI.

Organizations are evaluated against observable evidence. Scores are comparable within this study and methodology version; the two indexes are not blended.
